TELECOMMUNICATION

TELECOMMUNICATION

First thing that comes in our mind " What is communication?"

Communication means exchange of thought/ ideas / information from sender/ transmitter to receiver at a short distance level.

Second thing that comes then " What is telecommunication?"

Telecommunication is combination of two words - Tele + Communication

Tele means Distance/ Remote  & Communication means Exchange of ideas/ thought/ information / voice.

                                      Tele + Communication :-

(Distance/ Remote ) + ( Exchange of ideas/ thoughts/information / voice)

Now you can say that telecommunication is a distance communication through wired or wireless.

Some important points:-

Initially Telecommunication start by TELEGRAPHY in 1980's and then
By FIXED LINE in late 1980's & after that
By WIRELESS COMMUNICATION  in 1990's

Threats of Telecom: -

  1.  Accuracy
  2.  Time Delay
  3.  Reliability / Security

  • Our aim to make a better telecommunication by improving Accuracy and Reliability and  minimizing time delay . We can minimize them but not completely eliminate them. So we minimize these threats as much as possible.

NOTE:- In INDIA , wireless communication start in 1990's.

Now I will tell you  about all the Generations which is known as Releases.

Evolution graph of GSM

GSM means GLOBAL SYSTEM FOR MOBILE COMMUNICATION

  R stands for Release
  GPRS-  GENERAL PACKET RADIO SERVICES
EDGE -  ENHANCE DATA RATE FOR GSM EVOLUTION
UMTS - UNIVERSAL MOBILE TELECOM SERVICES
HSDPA - HIGH SPEED DOWNLINK PACKET ACCESS
HSUPA - HIGH SPEED UPLINK PACKET ACCESS
MIMO - MULTI INPUT MULTI OUTPUT ( This is an Antenna solution)
HSPA  - HIGH  SPEED PACKET ACCESS
  LTE -  LONG TERM EVOLUTION
  SAE  -  SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE

(Sorry - In this image full form of UMTS is not written correct.)
